LoginID achieves FIDO UAF 1.1 Certifications
Certifications will make LoginID one of the first companies globally to be certified for both client and authenticator
San Mateo, CA, January 6, 2021. — LoginID, a FIDO-certified strong authentication solution provider, announced obtaining the latest UAF 1.1 Server, iOS and Android certifications by the FIDO Alliance today, which will help companies move beyond the use of traditional passwords.
FIDO UAF is a certification standard developed by the FIDO Alliance that allows users to authenticate themselves securely and conveniently on their personal computers and mobile devices, without the use of passwords. Recognized by the International Telecommunication Union’s Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T), the protocol achieves this by allowing users to leverage security factors on their device to create and release a private key that is passed to the FIDO UAF Server in order to verify and authenticate the user.
The protocol also supports the creation and configuration of various policies for transaction verification. The private key generated by a user will be passed through the FIDO UAF server in order to sign different types of transaction data, such as financial transactions, in a secure way.
“As a committed FIDO Alliance member, LoginID is proud to announce our UAF 1.1 certification, complimentary to our FIDO2 certification,” said Simon Law, CEO of LoginID. “FIDO is now the de-facto strong authentication standard globally; this certification affirms our commitment to the FIDO Alliance, allowing us to accelerate the adoption of FIDO-certified strong authentication, and to provide our partners with the safest, easiest and most secure, compliant authentication method available.”
LoginID’s FIDO UAF 1.1 certifications ensure continued support for the latest biometric capabilities across Android and iOS clients supported by the LoginID SDKs and server, supporting interoperability and security and helping eliminate the time and costs involved in customized integrations. The certification allows LoginID to address the global password problem by further reducing the cost, time and technological barriers to implementing passwordless authentication.
With the fastest implementation time in the market, LoginID’s commitment to accelerate adoption of passwordless authentication is supported by various integration options, allowing organizations to quickly integrate and scale strong authentication at low costs, while ensuring compliance with international data privacy laws such as the PSD2 Directive and GDPR Regulations.
